Quick bolt question-
I'm not able to get to my sills at the moment, but need to pick up replacements for the bolts that connect the sills to the frame... SO,
What size/length (and number of) bolts do I need to get? Thanks, Bill PS- tried searching for this, but couldn't find anything. |

Re: Quick bolt question-
Since no one has jumped in... Depends on now you want to mount them. Stock uses carriage bolts with a washer with an offset square hole. Washer is recessed into the wood to keep it from turning. I think they are 5/16 or 3/8, I don't have any stock ones around. Length is bedwood (3/4) + sill depth (2" or so) + thread length, around 4". Another way is to use standard bolt between sill and frame, then relieve the back side of the wood strips at the bolt heads. This way there are no exposed bed mount bolts, that would make the bolt about an inch shorter. Since the sill are U shaped you can bolt it to the sill so its nice and tight and use a second bolt/washer to secure to the frame.

Re: Quick bolt question-
I did the same, I just used scraps of 3/4" plywood and 5/16" bolts and fender washers I had laying around on the four extreme mounting points (front and rear sills), and bolted the inner fenders (fleetside bed) to the center sills.
