Talking '71 1/2 ton axles 4 sale

I have a set of '71 1/2 ton axles for sale. They are a D44 and 12 bolt with 3:73 gears. The D44 is open and completely stock, except for the '77 non-flat top knuckles. The 12B has Richmond gears and an Auburn Pro-Series limited slip.

I would like to get $300 for the pair, I have alot more than that in the 12B.

Both of these axles could be freshened up, they are in driveable condition now. I can get pics if needed.

These would be the perfect addition to a pre-71 truck because of the disk brakes, or to you guys with 3:08 gears.

I am willing to drive 150-200 or so miles to meet you if needed. These are located in Clinton, IA 52732. I am willing to strap them to a pallet for shipping, but that is a last resort. I would like to find a local buyer if possible.

Thanks for looking!

The 12 bolt needs a pinion seal. The area is moist from gear lube but no drips on the driveway. Other than that, maybe a coat of paint.

The Dana 44 will need balljoints, inner axle seals, and brake calipers. Included is the stock steering arm.

Like mentioned above, these axles are in driveable condition but could use a few things to be perfect.

I would be willing separate the axles if anyone is interested. For the 12bolt only I would take $250. It has the majority of the new parts.

Obious assumption is that the 12 bolt is from a 4x4 with leaf springs. Are the leaf spring mounts the same on a 4x4 as a 2wd with rear leaf springs?

Thanks,

Randy

Nope, the 4wd's and 2wd's have different spacing. This axle has a perch spacing of 40" center to center whereas the 2wd's spacing is 42.5"

You could always cut off the old and weld on new perches.
