New 1972 Trucks?
Does anyone know of a company that sells "new" 1972 trucks? I remember seeing their ad in magazines several years ago, but I can't remember the name. I've got a co-worker that wants to buy one, rather than one somebody restored with modern powertrain. Thanks for any help.

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
Thank. I'll have to see if I have any old mags somewhere. I believe the color, motor, and trans were about the only options. They also had a warranty.

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
Other than a ride in doc browns Delorean I'd say it's not gonna happen. The tooling and way older vehicles are built it would cost a fortune to start building old iron again.

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
Up until recently I heard you could buy "new " 1990 model chevy trucks in Mexico. They would take a new truck down there and tear it down and wear house it because they couldn't carry it across complete. then when you wanted a truck order up and they would put together as close as they could to that. Now that was a floating model year thing way back then, and those guys said they did trucks some cars and even tractors that way. Jim

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
You can buy a complete fiberglass truck, minus frame/motor. Although for the price you could get several original 67-72's.

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
It will happen eventually, the demand is there. But it will probably be another 5-10 years. Expect to pay around $10K for a cab with doors....

Re: New 1972 Trucks?
Right now there is a company advertising in the truck mags selling all new sheet metal for 47 - 53 Chevy trucks. It says all made in the USA. $12,000 or there abouts. I can see them or someone else doing the same with the 67-72 trucks one day. They are more in demand but right now the supply of originals is still healthy. One day they might not be.
