71' LWB Chevy. Transferred the gas tank from cab to frame.
I have a blazer tank I'm using in the swap but have run into trouble with the height of the tank. It is above the frame rail and to remedy the problem I'll either need to lower the tank 3" or notch out the bed frame channel. Anyone been here before? Can't really afford to ditch what I have to buy the proper kit unless I can find a buyer for a plastic blazer tank from that era. If the tank is only 12" inches off the ground will that pose any issues or concerns?

I'll check the receipt when I get home but I think 67-72. From the chevy supplier in Arkansas.

I have seen it done both ways, personally, I would go with sectioning the bed rail. If you section it and weld in some replacement sheet metal, you should be good to go. I believe that the higher you get the gas tank off the ground the lower you can go with the suspension itself.
Here is a link to one of those TV car shows and it shows them sectioning the bed. http://www.powerblocktv.com/episodes...ls-engine-swap
