Truck all cleaned up for the Easter Carshow in St. louis

Got the truck cleaned up for the Forest Park Easter Carshow in the morning. Anyone around St Louis tomorrow and needs something to do come visit me at the Muny lower parking lot. I am predicting 300+ cars. I will be hanging out in my black 68 shortbed stop and say hi. I will try to get some pics to share as well.

Well... No pics... Drove about 30
Miles met up with some family and their buddies and my truck wouldn't start, tried jumping it nothing, sent them on their way and called the tow truck. I guess this show just isn't meant to be, it's the second time I have tried to go and truck broke down, another time I went and they closed the gate because of too many people there, an the one time I di show my truck it was cold and miserable out.

Well Mike, that sucks.... I swear, if you didn't have bad luck you wouldn't have any luck at all. I guess I will have to have Sammy hand over the hard luck trophy to you....

Wow, to bad you didn't make it. Would have been nice to see your truck. Was there with mine, was a great turnout. The park was packed, upper and lower lots were full.

Just seen photo of your ride, Nice..............

Sorry to hear about the breakdown. I was planning on going but I read online it was only all original vehicles, "NO CUSTOMS OR HOTRODS", so I passed. Curious if they stick to that rule.

Re: Truck all cleaned up for the Easter Carshow in St. louis

There are actually 2 different shows. The st louis model t club puts on a concourse 100pt show on the upper lot with museum quality cars. The lower Muny lot has The Real Easter Show, put on by the St Louis Street Rodders. If you go to you tube you will find several videos from years past. On nice weather days like Sunday between both shows over 500 cars and probably 10000 on lookers.

I sometimes think this truck starves for more attention similar to a GF I had for a time.

LEADBELT CRUISERS ..Second Saturday evening May-Oct. for cruise @ B.T. DQ around 6 pm. You have a couple of weeks yet and less than 16 miles round trip for you.

Thanks guys, I still havent touched the truck.. its gotta be something simple, starter, cables or something. Guess if it was sitting at my house I might have more motivation. Red Rider Rudy welcome to the board, look foward to meeting you.

Firedog, thanks for the Welcome. Haven't driven my new toy very far yet.

It's a nice driver, just has had a few small things go wrong. Just need to change a few things to make it ours. First time we have had something that i don't know the history on it?

Hope to see and your truck somtime soon?

This is how my truck has lived since Easter. This weekend with the help of a few buddies that were tired of my truck looking like this I finally got to the bottom of the problem. 1 friend towed my truck to another friends house. Once I got there he already had it started after snugging up the hot wire on the starter. However after letting it run for 15-20 mins it was back to its old tricks. So the next day I crawled under it in the 95+ heat to install the mini starter my bro in law gave me. Well after a trip to town for new bolts I discovered it didn't fit. So in frustration I went home and decided to sleep on it. On Sunday Eve, my buddy called me up and told me to come over. He had located a replacement starter, adjusted the timing and the carb. The truck has never ran so well. So who is ready to hang out at a cruise?
