headers ?

I know this has been disscussed lots, but the search function is not in service. Flow tech headers are they any good, I have heard they are thin. Also what headers fit a 72 chev 2wheel drive small block. Please let me know if they are shorties or regular headers. I want to order some in the next day or two and would like to know either what they were ordered for, ie chevelle and year or part numbers. Thanks

Flow teck are a low end header. I would stay with a good set of Hookers or Doug Thourley's myself but.... i will never switch from stock cast iron to headers as they are not worth the trouble...Leaks, burnt plug wires, burnt hands and arms..
I like to keep it STOCK!

i have the painted full length dynomax headers. plenty of room for sparkplug wires and fit pretty good

DYNOMAX are by far the best for your money on 67-72 trucks.

from what i've heard, hooker Super comps fit like a dream, and are a great header, but they cost between 350 and 530 bucks for the black and the ceramic ones!

i have dynomax cerama coats and they fit like a dream, and only cost 230. I havent burnt a plug wire yet, but my hands are another story......lol.

Dynomax users....

I've heard the collectors hang pretty far below the frame. Anybody want to confirm that for me. I need headers that will not hang too low under a lowered truck.

DYNOMAX headers for Chevelle, 3/4 length and do not drop below the frame on our trucks. SUMMIT RACING PART

The headers do hang down lower than the frame bout 2-3" here is a pic so you get a better idea.

I got the headers made for a BB 67-72 2wd 1/2 ton, dont know bout sb's or the chevelle headers.

I have a pair of 3/4 chevelle headers for a bb, I hope they fit. It will be a long time until I can find out for sure.

I have the dynomax headers, and they do hang kinda low, but I've never scraped them on anything driving and I'm lowered in the front, but they did kinda get hung up on a dovetail trailer now that I think about it.

I have the same problem with my lemans and full length headers. even after I had one shortened. Im thinking about welding some diamond plate to the dovetail part of my trailer so that it will just slide off. with my luck it will get stuck on the diamonds.

Yes the dynomaxes hang low. When I went with angleplug heads I had to get new headers I bought doug thorlys and they are great they dont hang as low as the dynomax and the craftsmanship is great.

I have Hooker Super Comps. Hang low and are a B$%#ch to get to the rear plugs.

Hooker super comps here...never touched the ground..even with my 500,000 mile od springs. The suspention will bottom out onto the bump stops (every single day) before the headers will touch the ground. I have no problems getting the rear plugs out of mine...I can't see what could be in the way.
Anyways, small block, th350...typical stuff.

The #6 is a real pain to get to. Have to use a friken wrench...but it is better than my old headers which I had to use a wrench on 7 of them.
