Will a Later model (72 ish) Master Cylinder fit 64??
im having to redo all the brake lines on Ol'Blue. They are all beyond shot out. completely rusted thru in some parts. I feel like the master that i had in my 72 would fit. Has anyone does this?.
i would be going from a single to double port. Decent prices on these. Might as well upgrade as i replace a little bit. Thoughts?? Has anyone done this?? |

I don't know about fit, but the master you have a pic of is a disc/drum master and won't work correctly on a truck with drum brakes all around, you need a drum/drum mater where the two chambers are the same size. It has the correct residual pressure valves needed for drum brakes.

If you still have drums all around, you could use a '67-'70 MC as they were still drum brakes but had the dual reservoir.

I've done what your gonna do. Made my 4 wheel drum setup work well. The truck will lay rubber better with the brakes than the motor. I used a new '69 m.c. and got the metal lines from the junk yard.

GREAT! thanks everyone, no power brakes on this things. Keeping it all crusty, dusty "the way it was" with a just a little touch of safety here an there ;-) thanks again.

Yep, I always recommend the '67-'70 master for drum/drum brakes whether manual or power.
