Tie rod question
I was just giong thru my pile of front end parts and found I have 3 long tie rods and 2 short ones that screw on to a threaded end. Obviously the screw on ones are wrong but are all the tie rods (inner and outer) the same? The look the same on the old assembly I took off.

Re: Tie rod question
LOL I just looked up the part number for the screw on tie rods and they fit my 2003 Buick. I must have been half asleep and had the wrong vehicle on my search. Oh well I'm set for outer tie rods for my car.

Re: Tie rod question
All tie rods that I have seen are threaded.
IIRC the '63 & '64's used the longer tie rods and the '65-'70 used the shorter ones. Don't you have discs up front though?

Re: Tie rod question
I'm putting discs on. I got the spindles from CPP that use the stock ball joints and tie rods. I'm going to take the old assembly apart tomorrow to see if the old tie rods are the same length as the new ones. Of course I took them out of the packaging and threw out the paperwork I got with them. lol The screw on set that I have work on my 03 Buick. I had a Dodge Magnum that used the same type. There is a threaded rod that the inner and outer screw onto instead of a sleeve. I dropped off the control arms for powder coat and was going to stop in and say hi but I had to get home. lol I'm gooing to need a steering box adapter soon. Do you keep them at the shop?

Re: Tie rod question
I am currently out of steering box adapter plates, I'm waiting on more laser cutting. I should have them by mid next week.
