My new old 69 C/10
I have only just started posting on the forum and wanted to post some pictures of my 69 CST LWB that I am starting to work on. It was given to me by my late father in law, he inherited it from his cousin who bought the truck new in Sidney, Montana.
The truck is in really great condition, only rust is pass side cab corner, the pass rocker is banged up and the rear driver side quarter panel needs some work. Other than that jus the usual dings and dents of a 45 year old all original truck. I plan on getting the dents and dings fixed painted back original with new trim then redo the interior, but my first job is to repair the front end, new ball joints, tie rods and shocks. All are pretty well worn. I enjoy reading the forum every day to get tips and ideas for repairs. Here are the pictures and I will try to update them as the work progresses. |

Welcome, thanks for the pics and background story. I like reading about these trucks and their history. My wife says I'm sentimental....my kids think I'm mental.

Re: My new old 69 C/10
Thanks for all of the kind words. I really look forward to using the forum to get help as I continue.
The truck is all original with a 350 and a 3 speed automatic. It has factory air conditioning. The engine and transmission were rebuilt about ten years ago after my father in law got it. Here is a couple of pictures of the sticker in the glove box showing the options. I will try and show updated pictures as I progress into this adventure. My next step is taking off all the exterior trim to get it ready for a new paint job. |

Re: My new old 69 C/10
I finally got back to work on my 69 over the past weekend and this evening.
I got all of the exterior trim removed along with the bumpers and grill trying to get it ready for paint. Today a got the driver's side ball joints and tie rods replaced. I hope to get the other side done this weekend. I wanted to thank everyone who put up posts about changing ball joints. I studied several of them and it made the job a lot easier. I got a loaner ball joint press and fork from Auto Zone and with a little improvising they worked real well, I had more trouble with the top one but was able to get with a grinder and air chisel. I will get some updated pictures posted I soon as I can get my new phone figured out. LOL |

Re: My new old 69 C/10
I think it looks good in the original paint. It's hard to find one like that anymore. Very nice truck, good luck.
