WTB: Factory "Vortec" Engine Cover
Hey guys, I'm looking for one of the factory engine covers for a 5.3/6.0, like in the picture. I see them on eBay for $50, but was hoping to get one cheaper on here since most guys ditch them when swapping intakes. Let me know if you've got one, Thanks

You wouldn't happen to have the rear mounting bracket that mounts the square one to the intake available?
Sorry to jack your thread!

Re: WTB: Factory "Vortec" Engine Cover
I didn't know that the brackets were different between the square & round covers.

Yes, the square covers have two bolts. The rear bolt bolts to a bracket that mounts on the intake manifold. My local dealer says they can't get them anymore, so I've been checking U Pull yards.

Re: WTB: Factory "Vortec" Engine Cover
The square were the early covers from like 99-01ish maybe just to 2000. I know I have some of each kind but without looking at the trucks they came from I don't[or can't ] keep the year models separate any more. That is something I was able to do when I was younger and remember what year model truck did what and witch once went onto what side of the yard. Now when they come in I just put one where ever it will fit. Jim

Thanks for offering. I found someone who's got a round one.

Re: WTB: Factory "Vortec" Engine Cover
you check at your local Stealer? Lots of times they will let older part like this go at cost or close to cost... I usually ask them after they give me book price... "ok so what will you sell it to me for" and usually they come back with a better price... At all worst I would be happy to get it from my dealer (I get stuff at cost) and ship it to you but most likely the shipping will eat up any savings...
