It's the most bizarre of the Scottsdales.
How many others have 4x4 plus true front wheel drive via twin stick NP205 and a 5560lb rated rear springs/axle? 4.11:1 gears and a properly built 350 with Hp to power it well.
In doubt,...check it out:

Re: Scotty Roll Call!!!

I "had" a '78 Scottsdale 30 Camper Special (that I wish I still had). It was my work truck back in '86-89,454 4spd wood bedfloor. Toolboxes & racks were a must. I painted boxes to match and had them and the rest of the truck pinstriped to match the little that the p.o. had done. It had a bug catcher and extruded running boards. I ditched those, then discovered my truck had muddy sides all the time from running on construction sites. So,I added diamond plate boards to match the plate I had made for the tool box tops and the full tailgate cover.
First picture is when I first bought it,but after I installed a chrome step bumper. Second is how it was about a month later, but picture taken a few years later

That's a great looking truck there, Tim! I've always loved that top pic...I would have driven the crap out of that!

Haha, I was actually out near Cheyenne last summer, and oddly enough, I saw more Scottsdales than I did CHeyennes.

I put many miles on that one and it loved a load. I got rid if it to get a new C30 with 11' Reading utility bed. The wood floor didn't like the extra weight from the racks & boxes. It still looked great when I removed all that before selling. The guy that I sold it to used it to pull his race car,so that was pretty cool.

Re: Scotty Roll Call!!!

Did the '70s Scottsdales with the two cross bars come with the chrome strips in the grille?

Our '75 did (although I recall there were three: one above and one below the bowtie, and one through the middle).
