2wd burban ride height and springs question

I have a 71 GMC suburban. this thing was in pieces (box and coffee can special). the person before me put 5" lowered read and cut the front springs to the point it sets on the bump stops. I would like a suggestion for springs that would let this thing sit lower than stock but not ride the bump stops. I dont want to spend too much.

would a 2" front drop spring and 3" rear be a good balance? anyone got pics and spring size?

I am not going to chop the frame and bag it.

A 2" front and 3" inch rear drop is going to look just a little lower than stock. Here is a photo from the LMC catalog that shows what the different drops look like. From my experience the 2" front and 3" inch rear looks more like the 1" front and 3" rear pictured in the LMC catalog.
