Chevy P80 parts help.
Picking up a 1987 Chevy P-80 step van with the 427. The water pump is bad. Would it be the same as a 454?

Re: Chevy P80 parts help.
Thanks. I actually went online with Oreillys auto parts and they had a listing for a Chevy C60 with a 427.

Re: Chevy P80 parts help.
Looks like you have a tall deck, judging by the thermostat housing. It's kind of hard to tell, but do you have a thermostat housing that has one or two thermostats in it? If it has two, you have a tall deck. Order one from the C60 in that case. If you have a standard deck height block, just order one from any car or truck with a 454.
By the way, the tall decks had a special intake, different distributor, usually a deep sump oil pan and longer oil pump pickup, and usually forged internals. They're a good starting point for forced induction builds. I had a 366TDBBC I got for free once that I was considering doing a single turbo build on. There were some unforseen problems with it though and I had to sell it.
