2002 rearend
Anybody put a 2002 Silverado rear end in a 72 c10. From what I can gather there about 5 in wider. Sounds like to me might be to wide. I'm just looking for limited slip and disc brakes and I just so happen to have one laying around. Any thoughts

i used the rear end from a 99. its a 14 bolt semi float. factory discs and a gov lock(i replaced it with a true trac) i dont have he measurements but it fit.

So it must have not looked to wide. My problem is I'm doing my frame and drive train with no body and my step side is in pieces. I think I'm gonna try it and hope it don't look to wide.

The E-brake set-up is junk on them, if you are considering going with a straight shift. I broke the one in my 2000 Z71 when it was 3 months old, and the E-brake was crap after about a year and half of owning the truck. It was one of the many reasons I sold that truck.

i think it will work cause the offset on the 2002 rear wheels would make up the diff

2" diff in axle shafts 2002 is 33.57 72 is 31 5/16 long so not too much i think your ok

I'm going to try it maybe this weekend ill work on it a bit. I wish I could lead some pics. But it won't let me. Or I just don't know what I'm doing.
