Parts washer fluid
What are you guys using in your parts washers? My dad had one and I remember the solvent he used was pretty hard core. I'm guessing the tree hugger crowd has gotten rid of it and now we have to use stuff that takes twice as long and costs twice as much so a fish doesn't die somewhere. I was at Harbor Frieght today and they had a gallon of degreaser for $50. I only have a 5 gallon washer but $250 to fill it is crazy. Any low buck options?

Re: Parts washer fluid
There should be a petroleum dealer locally that supplies bulk oil and other fuels to the farmers around there. Check with them for mineral spirits. That where I get mine and it does a descent job of cleaning.

Re: Parts washer fluid
I have the 20 gallon H.F. parts washer. I use mineral spirits, I just bought them from Home Depot. But to save money, I took the empty gallon containers and filled them up with water and put them in the tank under the shelf. This helped displace the solvent and allowed me to have a full tank with much less solvent.
