No more 20's

Pulled off the 20x8's and 20x12's and put on a set of steel wheels with caps.
I think I'll buy another set for the rear that are wider with less backspacing. The biggest difference other than the ride quality is the a rear tires are ALOT easier the break loose.. those 255/70/15's don't have the weight or footprint the 315/35/20's do.

Re: No more 20's

I went the opposite way with mine. I went from 15" to 20". Used to you could nail the gas at 20 mph and break the tires loose but no more with the 20's. That is the only part I miss about my old wheels and tires.

Needs skinny whitewalls to complete the look. Oh yeah, and lowered a bunch more.

you've been telling me bag my truck for 6 years now...LOL

If I lower it any more the crossmember and a-arms will hit the ground.
First thing I'm doing is getting wider back wheels.

I'd would have went with skinny whitewalls on all four corners but couldn't find any that are big and little's (for under $1,000)

20x12 6" backspacing.
Just a little trimming is all that's needed for them to fit.

Re: No more 20's

It's a longshot but do you still have the original grille and headlight set up? If so, I'd be very interested in them.

Maybe those heavy wheels dogging it down; like a heavy flywheel effect.

I agree that looks great. I get so tired of seeing big wheels. My wife had 20's on her 02 GMC when we married, i convinced here to go back to the factory sport wheel and some white letters looks so much better.

Re: No more 20's

Now I want to lower the rear even more. I was hauling a 1/2 ton of steel and I like the way it looks.

Yes to 15"s on this gen truck, yes to lower, yes to wider rear tires, no to whitewalls. Good talk.
