1971 c10 Cheyenne Super lwb numbers matching
This is a real numbers matching c10, real Cheyenne super, 350v8, th350, 12 bolt rear axle. originally olive green with white. prior owner primered the truck in grey some years back but the green and white is still under there. minimal rust but body is rough. never wrecked. 99% complete.
I was born in 71 and have wanted a 71 k20/k30 4x4 for a long time in blue and white. would you go ahead and sell the numbers matching running gear out of this truck and convert it to k30 4x4 and a lsx motor swap? or leave it alone and sell it and find a non numbers matching non super Cheyenne to build? opinions plz. |

Its your truck and you should do what you want with it. I would think it would be more cost effective to find a K20 or 30 and start there rather than trying to convert the 1/2 ton two wheel drive you've got, just my opinion.

Re: 1971 c10 Cheyenne Super lwb numbers matching
"...opinions plz."
This truck is typical of the option levels I see on Supers. Being a C10 with A/C it would be popular with a lot of people as a stock or restomod truck so you could go either way. Considering that Supers were a late 71 release and had the flat door panels makes it a desirable variation to some people over a 72. If it were me I'd be more inclined to go stock C10 or if you wanted a 4x4 to make it a K20 clone (doable with an 8'bed) on a real K10/K20 frame with the planned running gear. To that end here is a K20 Cheyenne Super in the Deluxe Two-Tone paint your truck is coded for. Plus a nice tall Hugger Orange too. Since there were no K30 trucks from the factory 67-72 you would be building a "built" truck like many I've encountered over the years looking for a true NAPCO or M&H 4x4 C30. Based on eveything from K5 and K10 swb on up and called a K30. To me, and for my needs, if it does not have a 1-ton rating plate its not a 1-ton. Just a reminder, there are rules on the board and double posting or multiple threads on the same subject by the same person are frowned on.
