Re: Didnt know she was coming..but im sure glad shes here.

when I found her she was loaded down with tires...
Tina is a factory automatic and factory air and power brakes..never seen one of these trucks that had a factory automatic..
also picked up this 66 as part of the deal....shes got fire damage..but shes got alot of good parts...and oh yea.. im gonna make Tina a short bed..what i really love is this 66 came with factory power steering..it will make a nice addition to Tina..its pretty sweet that my buddy threw in the 67-72 fleetside bed too..

Please tell me that you did not have to take all of the trash with it? My last '72 purchase was similar. Full of rotten carpet, sheet rock & tires. The guy was pissed when I told him that I'd take the truck but not his trash. Any-who congrats on your new project, I can't wait to see what you do with it.

Very cool options and 2 BBW cabs. It shouldn't be hard to sell the extra BBW. There are a lot of people that like sunburned necks out there.

Re: Didnt know she was coming..but im sure glad shes here.

well got back on Tina...was gonna try to get the block turning...had a lil bit of good news.. found out that she actually has a 327 ..not a 283..looks to be original to the frame....Name: 20140701_091553.jpg

bad news is she had 3 cylinders with water...and the intake had this sludge that ive never seen before..got most of it cleaned up and i put some penetrating oil in for a few hours.. wiped it all out and put some marvel mystery oil and slapped the heads back on..took the engine home im gonna try to hone out the cylinders..if not..shes gonna have to get bored .040 since shes already .030 over...and im goin to try and save the 283 power pack heads...im hoping for the best..

Hope the 327 turns out good! I say put a set of 350 edelbrock heads on it...little more power that way.

Re: Didnt know she was coming..but im sure glad shes here.

well... Tina has had another setback...got the cab on the frame...starting putting the new mounts and found out the frame is warped ..i guess the fire the truck was in was worse than i was told... it was a disappointment...i said a couple curse words... but i got over it....im gonna have to put Tina on the back burner for awhile..i gotta get ahold of another frame....so this budget build i was gonna try to do with her is shot....now she may turn into a full resto after i get Betty the 68 done...but for now im gonna use Mary for the quick budget build.....imma start a build thread on her today... so stay tuned...Name: 20140706_110414.jpg
