Project "The Mistress"
Well, I've been workin on this for a couple years now. 71 C20 Camper Special. The entire front end was shot so rather than go back stock, I decided to build a better mousetrap. I decided to upgrade the braking system and lift it while keeping it 2wd. Rather than converting to 5 or 6 lug, I wanted to keep it 8 lug, so off to the races I went. I started with ordering Fabtech 92-98 8 lug 4.5" lift spindles, flipping the trailing arm mount on my Eaton, and a crap ton of pressure washing and cleaning. Once the spindles came in, I realized how screwed I was when I went to look for ball joints. I found nothing in a stock design would bolt up without MAJOR surgery to the arms I just bought. After months of looking for a capable machinist I trust, I finally found one. Then it took us 8 months of R&D on CAD and C&C to get the upper ball joint perfect. The result is now I have a replacable upper joint that I hope and pray other folks are interested in because recouping some of this money spent sure would be nice. If not I have a 1 of a kind truck! Now I'm just waiting on my rear disc kit to come in for the Eaton and I'll update with alignment notes and anything else I run across that y'all want to know. I'm running 35's so slight front fender trimming will be necessary but this honey badger ain't scared. Let me know what y'all think!

Re: Project "The Mistress"
Got the front end together completely and set it on the ground. MAJOR positive camber. So I threw the rotors and hubs on the back right quick to roll it back and forth to let her settle. She got a little better but I needed more. Started searching possible solutions and landed on 2 lasting possibilities. 1) Moog K6454 springs in the front 2) Build new upper control arms. I'd like to avoid the cost and time associated with #2 so I've got the springs on order. Should be here in time to fit them this weekend. Worst case scenario, I'll still need new upper arms, but I'll have more lift to go with it. More updates after this weekend
