The instrument cluster looks darned close to what was in my '70 Dodge D200.

The frame is different. Buddy buckets were not made by GM. They were made by an outside company that supplied them to GM, Dodge, and International...which is why a lot of the parts between them are identical. However, the frame is not one of those parts. I've had three sets of seats out of an International, the frame would need to be modified to fit our trucks.

Take a look at the pics under hood you can tell those guys were not really use to making pickup truck parts and more use to making heavy duty truck parts. That radiator hose is as big as my fist and my ring finger is a size 17. In keeping with todays post nazi patrol I hope my post scold worthy. Jim

I've seen a couple Dodge step sides with 67/72 step side fenders, always wondered if they came that way from the factory?

I've always held the opinion that the Cornbinders were just starting to get some style when they went away. What was the last year? '74 or '75 or so? I kinda wanted one when I was in high school and just out.

Hi leddzepp, I knew the BB were not made by GM. I know the seats and frame in the International are different as well but I was just curious to see If anyone had tried to fit a set of these into our trucks. I had read here on the board that late sixties Jeeps had "buddy buckets" so are these the ones? or are there other styles that more closely ressemble the Chevy BB's?[ATTACH][/ATTACH]

I may be wrong but I believe the dodge BB are easier to make fit in our trucks

I have a set of the Dodge seats in mine. Had them recovered to match my interior. Had to make a couple of new sideplates to install them. I think they look good, but what do I know?

I agree, the dodge seats are probably easier to install and they look real good. However, I wasn't asking about Dodge seats or which seats are the easiest to install, I already know that. I was asking about the Jeep seats and if these were the ones people have been talking about on this board or if there is another type of buddy bucket installed in Jeeps that is different from the pics I posted.

Thanks for posting the link for the IH - neat truck.
If you are considering that seat set-up, don't let anyone dissuade you if you like them and can get one within your budget. They will work fine in a 67-72.
I just sold the same set up but tan with cloth inserts from a '72 IH to a fellow trucker and they fit perfectly in these trucks - you would just have to make a simple riser - in fact the 69-72 bucket seat passenger side risers that you can buy for $75 ish would likely be perfect and easy - one far left, the other far right.
A few things about them: 1. both sides have front/back sliders 2. Nice LARGE locking storage compartment 3. Very comfortable and large folding arm rest 4. A little more taper to the seat backs than the square look of 67-8 buddy buckets - I think it looks a little better? 5. Surprisingly thick comfortable foam 6. Center section isn't supported like buddy buckets which were designed for center seating specifically - but the center on bench seats aren't supported either...
On the whole, I think these are a great alternative to the extremes of inexpensive modern and super expensive originals and they keep the "period" look. Purists will scream but average citizens won't know and you'll have all the benefits of buddy bucket/bench console with a more consistent appearance.
I do suspect the Dodge seats are easier to find, a little more modernized, and if they say so likely easier to install - look very similar. LOVE the brown example above.
I have original buckets and like them, but different tastes, budgets etc. All good.

I've never seen buddy buckets in any year Jeep.
