A before shot of my truck 16 years ago

Here is my grandfathers truck in 1987, I was 14 years old. I found this picture today. the truck used to sit around and only had about 50K miles on it then. I did not get it until 1999 which was four years after he died. I took this picture because I loved it back then and I knew one day I would be restoring it.

Now I am only about two weeks away from driving it down the road again.

Cool Picture! That two-tone green is pretty unusual on these trucks. Are you doing it over that way?

It's really nice to see someone with an emotional connection to their project. Even nicer to see someone with that connection with the courage to restore to "like new". It's often tempting to take a truck and make it "cool", especially with some of the nice customized rides you see on this board that people have created. Nothing wrong with that approach, but it's still nice to see another member of the "Stock, and like a rock" club.

Actually when it comes right down to motivation, the customizers say they do it to make "their" truck. That is in essence what you're doing, except "your" truck is a connection to your grampa.

Kudos, and thanks for sharing.
