New Lift for 72 k5
I want to put a new lift on my blazer. I think it may have had a 4 inch. But unsure. it has sagged a lot.
running 33 inch tires. Will Do some hill climbing. Right now the back hits when I go up the hills. Rides ok in the dunes but rides like **** when you hit bumps and dips on the street. Let me know of some good brands and deals. Thanks |

Off the shelf there are many different brands. Not sure about deals but I would suggest dealing through "offroaddesign dot com". They have a lot of experience in tailoring something specific for your needs. They deal primarily with Tuff Country brand I believe or can custom design a set of springs (Alcan) at a premium price.
My 2 cents. Cheers.

Re: New Lift for 72 k5
I used a Tuff Country with springs all around. Does yours have blocks in the rear? If so, you could probably do rear springs (4") and see where you're at.

Re: New Lift for 72 k5
You could go with the Alcans but get 5" springs made so you don't have the blazer "saggy butt" issue. The other option would be a 4" spring kit and some zero rates to center the wheels in the wheel openings and add and extra 1".

Or you could do a shackle reversal with zero rates like Bouncy said and run stock arch springs to get you in the 5" or so range. With no blocks.

Re: New Lift for 72 k5
I run a skyjacker 2.5" lift with their HD springs in the rear (no blocks), Sky jacket nitro shocks and 33" tires. Sits level and rides comfortable. Handles well on road and off road. I would recommend putting new shackles on the rear springs too. Might be pricey but worthy investment.

I went with 4" kit from BDS, haven't had it on the dunes yet around here.

Re: New Lift for 72 k5
An all spring lift is the best way to go. Blocks is a cheap route to go keep saving till you can get an all spring lift you'll be glad ya did!

That 2.5 lift sits perfect in my opinion...

Re: New Lift for 72 k5
Off the shelf tuff country seams to be what people like best. Alcans from ord are going to ride like a Cadillac and flex the way you want. The can make them any way you want.
