Looking for Trucks for '67-'72 C10 Restoration Book
Hey everyone, my name is Kevin Whipps and I've been a member here since 2003 or so. Back then I was doing a lot of work for the truck magazines, and, as you can ask him yourself, I did a lot of work with Dino (Dinos63) back then, and I've shot a few things for Del and Sam as well.
I've been tasked with writing a '67-'72 Chevy Truck Restoration book for CarTech books, and I'm looking for trucks. Doesn't matter if they're custom, all I need is trucks in progress in one form or another to document what they're doing. I need brakes, suspension, engine, rust repair — basically everything. Although I'm based in Arizona, I'll drive to California or Nevada if the right truck is there. If you're elsewhere in the country, PM me and maybe we can get something to work out, who knows. I'm also looking for a cover truck (or trucks) for the book. In this case, the vehicles should be clean restorations, or mild customs might work as well, depends on the truck. Heck, I'd be fine with a truck in progress if we could get a cool shot of work being done. Anyway, if you're interested you can PM me here, or hit me up on my website, which is kevinwhipps.com. Thanks! In case you want to confirm my existence (and that I'm not a spammer), here's some links to work I've done. Pretty cool opportunity to get your truck in a book. Wish my truck was in good enough shape to help you. Good luck though.

Kevin,
I am about 4 hours from you. I started my project 4 years ago and is 75% complete. It is a very well documented build with over a 1,000 pictures to support it. Check out my build thread. Thanks,

Scott, I thought you did a awesome job on your "heavy half " build. I like also that it was a family affair and your boys helped you.

If you needed any shots of the larger C-series of trucks. I turned a 72 C50 box truck into a pickup a few years ago.

Re: Looking for Trucks for '67-'72 C10 Restoration Book
75 posts over the course of 11 years on the world's biggest forum dedicated to this exact model of truck? I'm in no position to question your knowledge or ability, I've never met or heard of you (nor you me, I'm sure). Just looked odd!

Sure, I understand. There are plenty of people who can back up my knowledge of trucks if need be, both on and off this forum. But if you have any questions, just send me a PM and I can give you any credentials you ask for.

I've never met another Whipps in person, but there is another Kevin Whipps who is a musician. I must piss that guy off because I keep buying Whipps-related URLs.

Re: Looking for Trucks for '67-'72 C10 Restoration Book
My 4.8 swapped truck would mostly be good for pictures of what to look out for when buying one of these trucks. Although I did take a number of pictures of what was involved with the Gen III engine swap. Let me know if you're interested. I'm on the East Coast, but could send pictures.

Re: Looking for Trucks for '67-'72 C10 Restoration Book
I do have pics, the big block 67 radical mod truck is on a powder coated frame with full air ride and c notched with narrowed 9" ford rear. the 5.3 is a powder coated frame with dropped spindals and lowering spring lowered a total of 5" and has some serious dash modification I don't have a link to a site with the builds most of the pics are just here on my computer and I dont really know how to attach them on here.
