Control arm and rear spring question

Ok, the control arms, springs, and shocks are installed. The note with the springs says "view top of pigtail: flat side parallel with rear axle", I did that. But the book *shows* the bottom parallel with the rear axle. Which one is it?

Re: Control arm and rear spring question

Is your top of the spring parallel with the axle?

Is your bottom of the spring parallel with the axle?

Sorry, for all my BS!!

Re: Control arm and rear spring question

I ran into this problem also. I took my springs off and a few months later I forgot wich way the went. Did a lot of searching for some pics and advice but never came up with a solid answer. I've seen them installed both ways.
After staring at them for several days I just decided to line the bottom parallel to the axle. I have 3/4 trailing arms that have the extra metal plate welded to them. It just looked like that's the way they should be installed because If I installed them the other way the pig tail looked like it was hanging over the edge of the plate on the control arm.
Not sure if this helps you any but here's a bump for ya.
