Need suggestions steering wheel
Ok so the steering wheel that's on the truck is the one that came from previous owner so I don't know what the hell he did. Take a close look at the center nut it looks like someone welded it so you can't compress the spring anymore to take it off. Any suggestions to get it off now without screwing up the steering column

Re: Need suggestions steering wheel
Grind through the weld. Probably going to have to replace the steering shaft

Re: Need suggestions steering wheel
Im with special-k on this one. That was either the wrong nut or someone stripped it out and wasted the threads. even if you do the work to get it off you will likely have to replace the shaft anyway. If the bushings and bearings need replaced its easier and probably cheaper to find a column unless its something special.

Yep. Replace it. It's one of those items that you don't want to scrimp on.

Re: Need suggestions steering wheel
On a budget build, what would be the best replacement and not costly? I replaced the steering gear already because it was worn. Someone was a real hack on this one lol but I was trying to figure out how to save it.

Re: Need suggestions steering wheel
I see complete columns sell in the parts board for $50-75.
