Build thread, Ol' Blue thats not so blue anymore
My truck is half done but i am going to start documenting for my sake.
This is how the 72 looked when i bought it, raging 283....... which i swapped for a 350 with a comp 268 headers, edelbrock rpm. It was nothing special but sure was better than the 283. It was originally a 6 cylinder truck. Attachment 1283517 Attachment 1283518 I'll take more photos of the chassis but heres the cab which is a 71, 1 ton with clearance light. It was completely rust free with all original paint, i patched the clearance light and stripped the paint that is visible and had pitting. Attachment 1283519 This bed i found on craigslist, i paid 475, and slept a happy man that night. The paint was in great shape. It had a few waves in the paint from the hugger orange paint job. Attachment 1283520 Attachment 1283521 The only original part of Ol' Blue is the hood, everything else has been replaced.

This is the new big block, its a high compression 396 with larger valves.
The truck is currently having the paint and body work done but ill take more photos moving forward, i still need to install exhaust and plumb a few other things and reassemble it all.
