my baby's hurt BAD
at about 8:45 this morning a woman (who barely spoke English, with a Oklahoma tag and New Mexico drivers license ) ran a stop sign and I T-boned her, VERY hard hit. It's a lot worse than it originally looked the motor is setting cocked sideways and the tranny is stuck in gear, frame is bent on both sides from the crossmember forward, it's a mess.
I'm afraid it's totaled, now I'll prob. get screwed by the insurance company first pic is from last years TOTM contest. "I came in 2nd" the other is after the wreck. Coop

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
find a certified appraiser the one here will be able to give you true value of your truck including any money in drive train etc and it should force the insurance to pay up. anyhow that's what I did when the same thing happened to mine I ended up getting 3 times what I paid for the truck and sorry to hear about the accident I know how you feel I just got lucky mine wasn't done like your's

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Consider yourself lucky she didn't kill you. idk my brother got slammed by a non-speaking person, presumed illegal alien and they simply got away without having to pay any damages and the state could care less to go and try and track them down.

Man, I hate to see that. With luck, she's insured -- but all too often they are not. Good luck, I hope you can get it back on the road.

Illegals or not , it's wrong for anyone to drive without insurance . I'm glad you're alive . I'm still off of work from being hit by an uninsured drunk driver on Aug 15, 2013

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Damn Coop, that really sucks big time. Did you get your self checked out after that to make sure no injuries to you other than your truck? Very sad to see your baby in that conditon. I've personaly seen your truck and the amount of work you and your son put into it. Really hope you come out of this in a fair settlement. Like RenoKeene mentioned, good thing you were in your truck and not on the bike. At least you had some good steel around you for protection.

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Koop, what a bummer, one of the nicest wrecker I've seen. But, you have great skills, I'm sure you will have it back together in the near future. Just sucks because of the "Time" you have to put into repairing the damage.
Looks like the hardest part might be to find another OE brush guard - in good shape.

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Coop, I'm really sorry to see this and feel your pain. I watched your thread , you'll have to prove what you have done and your build thread will help with that. It's not just an old tow truck it's now a historical/collector type vehicle. Just have faith, you can fix it....glad you're ok at least.

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
im no fan of illegals and Im usually the one to get screwed over in any situation.... But I got rearended a couple years ago by an illegal with a mexican drivers license. BUT SHE HAD INSURANCE. they paid no problem. I couldnt believe the cop didnt even ask for any greencard or anything else just took her mexican license and gave her a ticket.

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Im sorry that happened man those new mexicans are always causing wrecks. Oh wait! Im a new mexican!!!
Im just joshing you man. Im glad youre ok. Its really hard to see hard work just get smashed up like that. Its a good thing you had that brushguard to at least absorb some impact. If you have to pursue the other driver. Make sure her liscense is legitt. There been ALOT. of stolen identities and false documents here as well as fraud drivers liscense.

Re: my baby's hurt BAD
Koop, if she is uninsured your insurance will cover you. Ask about buying the salvage, then you can fix it even if you need a new frame. Glad you were not hurt.
