Problem with caliper
I thought I was almost done with my disc brake conversion, but have run in to a problem. The bleeder screw on one of the calipers was apparently cross threaded, so it snapped off. I thought it was coming out, but I can tell that the tapped insert backed out a thread or two before it snapped. Can this caliper be salvaged? Or, do I just need to get a new one? Thanks!

Re: Problem with caliper
Messed up threads on a critical braking component? Replace it. It's better to be safe, and keep others around you safe, than be sorry (or worse).

Re: Problem with caliper
They have a kit that you can drill it out & repair it but like the others say, its a plentiful item. Its just as well to replace it.

Re: Problem with caliper
I didn't realize how inexpensive these calipers are, so replacing is the only smart thing to do. This one appears to have been drilled out and repaired during remanufacturing process.
