Did i mess up valve covers?
I got a new set of valve covers at Carlisle this past weekend and they hit the intake when I put them on. Be for I though about stacking two gaskets together I decided to file down the lip of the valve cover to make them fit. Now I am thing I messed up. It will be two week till I put the motor in the truck. Does anybody thank they will leak from what I did?
Now I did not mess with the flat part that the gasket touches just the little side lip. If it matters it’s a Chevy 350 Thanks Evan |

Likely good!
Most of the oil goes downhill to the exhaust manifold side. What covers? Got a pic? |

Re: Did i mess up valve covers?
Hopefully the new covers have a pcv on one and a breather on the other cover!

Re: Did i mess up valve covers?
I trimmed my cheapie chrome valve covers to clear the intake (Edelbrock), and the head front/rear mounting bosses (for P/S, etc) since the covers were touching them. I also run thicker (not doubled) gaskets. No leaks. Just don't over-tighten them.
