you can buy just the regulator, but I don't know of any springs that help roll the window up

its a spring right under and inside the window crank. I read somewhere that it helps give a little leverage on the roll up. wish I could post a pic

Re: door regulator springs 49

I just went through a window regulator repair on both driver and passenger sides. I believe the spring you are searching for is the one that coils around and hooks against the window regulator shaft that the handle attaches to. Although I'm not aware of where you can get one, if there is any question in the quality of your other parts of the regulator assembly it would probably be a worthwhile investment to just buy the assembly. I can tell you that installing the spring with all the other parts intact is a pain, took me a pair of vise grips and channel locks to get enough tension on it to get it back into location on one of mine that fell out. Obviously a time vs money thing, but just swapping in a new regulator assembly would be a 30 minute job for all new parts and less head aches for a little more money, the route to go in my opinion where you may need more than one part, or more than one part may be in okay shape but not great.

Re: door regulator springs 49

Just about a month ago I was repairing all the components on my doors. I bought 2 new window regulators and went to go install them but the arm that lifts and lowers the window was way out of whack and did not line up at all with the bottom of the window. The arm was favoring the outside of the door by about 1.5 inches for both doors. I could have heated it up and bent it in to match the original one but instead i just took the time to fix the old ones. They actually still crank better then the new ones that were so tight.
