thinking of selling my motor for an ls swap... have some ?s
hey guys, I have a well built 350, bored .080 over (364) with a elgin pro stock cam, aftermarket rockers, heads ported, torker intake with carb spacer, edelbrock 750, and a th350. I am thinking of selling it to fund a ls swap. I was wondering what you guys think would be a good asking price?
I found a running 98 firebird with an ls on craigslist for $700 because of cosmetics and back fees. So now I'm really interested in doing the swap. I was also wondering if my current 350 headers would line up, or if I would need to purchase new ones? Thanks in advance.

The header and motor mount will not work from the 350. there are several bolt in motor mounts that work well. check the headers they don't all work with all motor mounts. the transmission will have to be moved forward about 1 to 2 inches.

That's a pretty good score for a donor vehicle.
You can get the transmission in the stock location - I did with my swap. Note that the LS motors don't have that 1" "ring" around the bellhousing flange, so keeping the transmission in the stock location sets the cylinder heads back about an inch. Not a big deal on our trucks.

I installed a 5.3 in my 71 and the left side was with in 1/4" of the fire wall and the right side was just hitting the fire wall so move it forward 1".
