Hobart 125
I have a brand new Hobart 125 and a regulator from Northern Tool. I can't figure out how to connect the two. The regulator has 5/8-18RH female threads for the outlet and I don't know what kind of male fitting I need to go into the back of the welder.

Re: Hobart 125
you will need 3/8'' npt (national pipe thread) fittings
both 1/4 and 3/8 npt are 18 threads per inch but 3/8 npt is close to 5/8'' use pipe dope not teflon tape on those threads teflon tape can send little strands of tape into solenoid valves and cause problems

Re: Hobart 125
If you look inside that fitting you will see a tapered seat. Same on the back of the welder. When you buy the correct hose for a mig welder it will have the right fittings on the ends. It is not a pipe thread!

Re: Hobart 125
This page has a picture of what the hose looks like. It shows a fixed regulator, but yours would connect in exactly the same way.
