Jim, 1969 gmc
I know, un imaginative name, but thats what I call im also known as "the truck" or "the gmc". Anyways this is my 69 gmc, I have no short term plans but long term i see an olds v8, likely 403, and a 700r4 but other than that I enjoy it as it is. Its a 1/2 ton long bed, 350/th400. I got the truck from my aunt who had it stored since the early 90's since her husband passed. my dad drove it home from iowa, and ive been driving it for 2 weeks now. since ive had it i swapped a 4bbl intake and quadrajet on it and buffed the paint, other than that ive just been using it as my daily.

Re: Jim, 1969 gmc
now I have a question. My dad found a gmc, looks like mine but i believe its a bit newer as it has a hanging gas pedal with a cable throttle. Its a 3/4 ton with front disk brakes and a few parts here and there i need for my truck. my question is will the rear end and springs direct swap with whats under mine? and will the front spindles and springs go onto my a arms? I would also like to convert to the gas pedal from that truck vs my floor mount solid rod setup if thats possible. the guy only wants $250 for the truck and my dad will go half if he keeps the engine and stereo. the 3/4 ton is also a sbc/th350 setup if that makes any difference.

Re: Jim, 1969 gmc
Still thinking about getting that truck but want to know if I can use the 3/4 ton springs on my truck as well as the 3/4 rear end and front spindles with disk brakes

Re: Jim, 1969 gmc
You should be able to swap the front end out directly. Not sure on steering box compatibility. As far as the rear, if they are both the same style (trailing arm or leaf spring), it should also be a direct swap. You will probably need to swap driveshafts also.
Hopefully others will confirm.

Re: Jim, 1969 gmc
So the spindles off the 3/4 ton should go on my a arms? All I wanna do is swap the spindles and springs into my a arms if possible. Both trucks are leaf spring

Re: Jim, 1969 gmc
still daily driving this truck, dont work on it much just keep it running. i did put new tires on it and went with 32" tires in the back and now my speedo is spot on. curious what the standard gear ratio is on these trucks? idk if anything on here makes a difference but i included it just in case.
