I bought a beater work truck over the weekend ....

It's an 83 and only has a measly 98,0000 miles !!
I got it for $875 and it runs great. Frame is ok, everything is pretty much original. I like that 700R4 tranny. Maybe it wasn't worth quite that much but then again, the bed is solid enough, I and haul some stuff with it and it drives well. Nice tailgate, nice newer chrome rear bumper.

The brakes are weird though, I press the pedal and it's hard to press, then it seems to grab the brakes and not want to let go all the way. Bad master cylinder?

Anyway, here is a pic.

Booster maybe? Whenever I've had a master cylinder go out, I have no brakes at all. Sweet truck though!

Probably collapsed brake hose holding pressure on the brakes.

My first thought was collapsed brake hoses as well... they can act as a check valve and don't allow fluid to return back to the m/c

It's a 305 4 barrel, all power options ... 700R4 tranny and I think just a 10 bolt rear end.


Yeah, it's a good beater truck but feels amazingly solid going down the road.

Here's mine that I got for $800. 1979 K10. 350, th350, NP203, headers, dual exhaust, glass packs. 9,000 verified miles on the engine. No rust other than surface rust on the bumper. Even has working factory A/C. Even came with the tool box in the bed. Runs and drives like a dream.

It doesn't have to be a beater, but right now mine kind of it.

That truck there was an absolute steal!!! holy crap, that was a good deal. Was it from a fam member or friend or just a crack head in need of a fix?

You guys are lucky,Around me a running driving truck is 2 grand.A running driving 4x4 rust bucket is 3 to 5 grand depending make and what it is.
