Questions about a 1995 Cummins

I'm looking at a 95 Dodge 2500. It's 2WD and has around 270K miles. The auto trans is probably bad. It was parked because it leaked all the fluid out of the trans in one day. What would something like this be worth? The body is in descent shape.

That should have a 47rh which are kind of hard to come by as they were only in 94 and 95 cummins trucks. I'm guessing the truck would bring $2500 with a bad trans. Maybe less, but they've been bringing big money at the auctions lately.

Thanks. How is 270K miles on this engine? I know these are capable of a lot of miles, but when should a rebuild be considered?

I've had plenty of these that this many miles or higher that the customer just wanted to run it until it hurt it's self. We've got more high mileage 5.9's running around with 250k + with 300hp on up and they all keep going. I'd only rebuild it if you're rebuilding everything on your build, or you have doubts about the engine. I drive a 98 24v that has 428k on it and it's never even had the head off. Has a little bigger injector with a blue chip VP44 and an AD150, and it'll run with 5.0's.

270k miles on that should be nothing especially if there are no upgrades on the motor
