frame to SBC bolt in motor mounts

Guys,
I want to change my motor mounts to some kind that bolts to the frame, at the sides then to the engine. I had some weld in mounts but the welds must not have been good and they broke. Is there a good bolt in aftermarket type? The front of my frame is boxed.

Re: frame to SBC bolt in motor mounts

what broke? what style did you use? need pics....
the fix could be as easy as taking it to a shop for welding

i'm still a fan of weld in mounts. never had one fail, but i've seen some of those cantilevered kits that look like they'd fail.
i welded a set of similar mounts like these into my truck way back before my latest remodel with the motor and body complete
if you have a stock frame use 2 triangular gussets to the top and bottom frame lip

with a mustII it is easy to come off the x-member
these are in my truk now

Re: frame to SBC bolt in motor mounts

Thanks for the pictures....Mine were just two steel plates one each side I thin the really need the an extra gusset or side plate....I will just use metal and re-weld them.

Re: frame to SBC bolt in motor mounts

Take a look at Chassis Engineering for a pattern, did you box your frame?
