Barrett Jackson Vegas

I took pictures of all of the 67-72 trucks and will post them here for everyone if the site lets me.

There were way more of these trucks than most years. And I'm not going to pick on any in case they are member trucks, but I saw some for 30+ that I would consider "a nice starting point" for a restoration.

I did not record values, so don't ask. Barrett Jackson makes them available on their site, I believe.

Nope, won't let me. Standard "picture is too large but I'll give you a bogus error instead". Oh well!

Did you try uploading the pics 1 or 2 at a time until you have 5 per post? That has worked for me in the past. Then repeat the process for each subsequent post.

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

There are probably more than 20 of them, and I already have a job and a hobby that don't involve fighting with vBulletin's limits or those set by Josh (not sure which is the issue).

If I remember to put my web server back up I'll stick them on there and add a link and I'll post that.

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

Your right, there were far more trucks this year than the last few years. Im glad they wrote on the sold stickers the amount each vehicle sold for this year. The trucks I seen all sold from $9k-$40k. Sorry I didn't take any pics. I didn't want to drop my $8 beer lol..

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

It's nice to hear more of our trucks are getting around into people's hands. Unfortunately Barrett Jackson auctions aren't a good indication of current market prices. They regularly sell vehicles well above market value over bidding wars. I'm convinced they can create a bidding war over the bombs my cat leaves in the litter box.

I disagree to the extent that (a) they sell a lot of cars so it reflects at least a good chunk of the market and (b) unfortunately people use those sales as a benchmark for private sales.

The biggest factor though, at least at Barrett Jackson, is that they're almost always no reserve. I think that gives you a real sense of the value.

Keep in mind too the seller has more into it just by the nature of transporting it and showing it and signing up and so on. A lot harder than posting a cragslist ad. This cuts both ways; their expenses are higher but they're serious sellers. No car ever got to the block with some geezer beside it saying he was going to fix up one day, so he's not really going to consider the bid right now... [Edit: Those are called reserve auctions!]

The problem, as I mentioned above, is that other people with -similar- vehicles then expect -similar- prices for their own vehicle. So an LS6 Chevelle convertible sells for $200K and now everyone wants more money for their 4-door Malibu.

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

I agree! The sales on BJ, over time, set the trend for private sales.
Let those prices climb and we will all benifit from it (as long as you already own or are selling.) LOL

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

No, sorry, I've been in bed since the weekend with that D68 Enterovirus (presuming there wasn't an outbreak of Ebola in Vegas that I don't know about). It's on my todo list though, I'm just way behind...

Have my tilt and speed warning-tach-vacuum cluster ready to go in but no up to it yet...

Re: Barrett Jackson Vegas

I was really hoping to try to send my Vette to Barrett Jackson this year, I didn't get it ready in time. Oh well, I guess I'll have to drive it for another year...
