Re: door problems
You probably need new body mounts. I've never done it, but I have read that you can shim it and adjust the door gaps.

Re: door problems
What was the door gap like before you started? These vehicles are like any other convertible the rocker, floor, boxes, jams are the only structural support. unlike a hard top vehicle. If the gaps where ok before the rocker install you may have to loosen the body mounts in order the finesse the gap. I would over correct to allow for the settling when mounts are retightened.

Re: door problems
You might try closing the door on a piece of wood, or do what bouncy said

Re: door problems
This is what we looked liked before disassembly. Our front cab supports were bad. The floor and rockers needed replacing but weren't structurally toast by any measure. Replaced the body mounts and fixed the metal. No serious massaging. The gaps were remarkably better when it started going back together. Most of it was in the body mounts.

Re: door problems
I took this picture today. Now I don't want to paint a false picture. This truck had had some collision damage and very poor repair, along with completely disintegrated body mounts and rusted/broken cab mounts. So there were a lot of things contributing to our generalized ill-fitment. And while things fit much better after replacing the mounts (there was at least room for a door to exist on the passenger side) there seems to be continuous gap work on these, adjust, re-adjust...but I do think in our case the biggest problem was the cab supports and rubber body mounts. We went back with rubber btw.
