'63 LWB SBW Fleetside
Hola Everyone!
I bought the '63 back in June, but have only recently been able to start taking it apart. I just recently became a homeowner, and now have my own place to be able to start working on the truck. I have been browsing the forum since around March, and it is an awesome resource! I am a total novice when it comes to wrenching, and wouldn't say that I am mechanically inclined at all. Rest assured that I will have many, many questions! When I picked her up this summer (with the 67 & up stepside bed that it came with): |

I have quite a few pics of the truck, but every time I try to upload them I get this message: Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

You can PM admin for issues like those. Sometimes new accounts can be a pain in the rear.

I am pretty excited though! Right now all of the front sheet metal is off, bed is off, and last night we got the seat and tore out the old nasty rubber floor mat that has so far revealed a totally solid floor! As of right now the only rust areas that I have seen is the right rear cab corner and of course the front fenders. The truck has a 283 that runs, and a powerglide. I will be trying to sell them as soon as I get them out.....anyone? Lol. In the next two weeks or so I will be in possession of a 350 SBC and a 700R4, both slightly beefed up, with only about 8,000 miles. I have two original looking radiators, and sent them both to the radiator shop, to see if either is useable/rebuildable. I also have a 73-87 front suspension that I am going to through (already have the drop spindles and moog bushings and ball joints). |

Re: '63 LWB SBW Fleetside
I had another '63 that I bought for $450, but it ended up being too much of a project, especially for someone who doesn't know how to weld..
I ended up selling it for $450, but also sold the 283 in it for $130. Here are some of the pics of it. The front suspension that will be rebuilt and going in the current '63 Bought with big dreams... I still have the black plate though! |
