'69 C-10 wheel brake cylinder replacement?

I have replacement brake slave cylinders for all 4 wheels on my '69 C-10. I checked my reproduction factory service manual and my Haynes manual for the topic but found nothing in either. So I'm gonna chip away at the built-up dirt and grease on the wheel and hoping for obvious bolt heads for the cylinder.

Aside from draining and refilling/bleeding brake fluid and reinstalling brake shoes and drums, does anyone have any advice or tips for removing and reinstalling the cylinder itself? Is it simple?

nothing to it. No need to remove the shoes if you can help it.

When I replaced the rear wheel cyl. on my 72 C-10, the bolts were frozen....I just wacked them with a chisel & replaced with new ones ( grade 8 5/16-18 thread ).
You may have a problem with the brake line fittings also....had to replace the rusty lines on mine.

be sure and flush your brakes very good at the same time. most wheel cylinders now only carry a 3 month warranty.

Pb blast the lines and let it soak in.

Highly recommend PB Blaster for a day or two on the bolts and the brake line fittings. It will become obvious how to take the wheel cylinders off once you clean away the crud. If that doesn't work, then some torch heat for a little bit works well. I never had a torch until a few months ago and it is simply amazing how well heat works to loosen up those brake line fittings.
WARNING: I used heat on flexible lines with components removed from vehicle on my bench. I do not know if there is an issue with boiling brake fluid in the lines that may lead to a dangerous situation. I know that on my flexible lines, the flexible lines popped off with a tiny little explosion, but the fittings came apart like butter.
