Over 200k or 300k?
I bought my Tahoe in 2006 with 127k on it and I was not sure if I would still have it at 200k..
Well..... ![]() I did... ![]() I have no plans to get rid of it anytime soon.. How many miles are on your 88-98 trucks?

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My 95 had 320K on it when I sold it and I know the odometer ran a little slow. Still looked good and ran good but it was was pretty well worn out. Lot of oil use and some smoke, but reliable as could be.

My odometer stopped about seven years ago at 135k and I drive it about 60 miles daily to and from work.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My dad had a 1991 with a 350 go 550,000 before an employee totaled it. Internals on the engine were never touched. Went through a number of trannys though.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My 91 SWB truck had 315,000 on it when I sold it. It is now on it's third owner after me, and it is pushing 400,000. This is on the original 5.7 liter engine and 700R4 tranny.

A friends '89 had 285k on it with one tranny. My '94 s-blazer had 248k when I sold it, still ran like a bandit!

My 95 Tahoe has 279,932 as of now. It has the original engine and tranny. Zero rebuilds. Runs like a champ.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
The trucks and engines lasting 200K+ miles doesn't suprise me. The transmissions on the other hand, that's pretty amazing. My 98 is just about 160,000 miles now.

I forgot two more, my father in laws '95 light duty k2500 260k plus miles and going up daily, and his neighbor's original owner '94 k1500, last check 345k miles. On the '94 nothing but 3 sets of ball joints and 2 sets of u-joints.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
You guys are way luckier than us, 98 K3500 crew srw hit 157k on 2 4L80E trans and the 5.7 died, the 93 K3500 ex cab dually hit 174k before it lifted a head on the 6.5 TD and one trans, the 98 K2500 plow truck shows 218K but 3rd trans and has a prominent Goodwrench sticker on the valve cover and the S10 is at 185K now with trans #2. These are used to tow heavy trailer or plow snow but we never see over 200K without a major part replacement except our Do#ge's which are close to 400K

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My '96 just rolled 260,000 last weekend, the NV-4500 could stand to be rebuilt but it still stays in all the gears and doesn't make noise (syncros are it's issue). The rear end was gone through a couple thousand ago, the pinion snout/support bearing had grenaded, dropped all of the rollers to the bottom of the housing and missed tearing anything up. *FORTUNATE* It was opened up for a weeping pinion seal. Oh yeah, I need tires soon...

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My 97 GMC shows a little over 227,000 but the negine and trans were replaces somewhere around 150-160,000 miles. Front end could use some work but otherwise still a nice clean truck.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
As of today....my '88 GMC C2500 SLE... 379,824. Engine replaced - 220,000, & 700R4 repaired more times than I can remember, until an Art Carr tranny w / a capable 650HP about 9 years ago stopped that frustration.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
Dad and mom have a '96 Tahoe 2wd with around 250-260k on it. They put a GM replacement engine in it at around 160k due to a cracked cylinder- it leaked water into the cylinder and hydrolocked enough to bend a rod. Transmission has never been out of it; serviced only. They tow with it occasionally too, I'm really surprised that the trans had held up this long! Rear axle had to be rebuilt at around 200k, bearings were all bad. Still runs great but the front suspension and steering needs to be completely rebuilt.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My old '93 C-1500 was a little shy of 200k when I sold it in '07, still running great on the original 5.7L engine, trans., & rear end. Nothing had been rebuilt at that point, & each performed flawlessly.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
Here is the 95 Tahoe. Replaced the ball joints and steering components the last two days. Yes it has a plow mount on it. No it is not plowed with any more. It was used by my dad to plow commercial accounts for around 10 years. And yes it still retains its original drive train with no rebuilds. Feel free to call B.S. but to is the honest truth. Put the kids to work also. They Love helping dad.

Re: Over 200k or 300k?
My BIL has 340,000+ on the 6.5 in his 96 burb and it's only down right now for a broken motor mount.
My 1992 k2500 has 210,000 but my compression tests out just a couple lbs lbs under factory and I dont use a drop of oil. It'd be hard to find a 350 that runs any better than this with half the miles on it. It's a turd on fuel for making so little horsepower but it couldn't be more reliable.
