'79 Blazer 2WD project starts..
I'm starting a 79 Blazer project. I've had many pickups, but I'd like to try out a full removable top Blazer. starting with a 79, and grafting a 73 removable full top, 5.3 LS motor, T56, aftermarket IFS, 4 link rear, late Silverado wheels, 4 wheel discs. Low, but not dragging rockers.

The yellow and white truck is the project on its way to me, the blue one is the donor of the top and windshield posts..

Cool man. I really like the color scheme of yellow and white. A owned a 77 4wd K5 several years ago and really liked it.

After you cut the top, make sure you do something to brace the rockers. The earlier trucks have rocker boxes the post-75 trucks do not (the body is braced by the roof structure). If you don't brace the bodt, it will flex at the door post. Guess how I know.....

Re: '79 Blazer 2WD project starts..
Hey, thanks, Super, but it wont remain those colors....the yellow is going to be a funky KIA Soul metallic green, and the white will be a Toyota pale gold.
Jonboy, I appreciate the suggestion. Is it only boxed, or is there more to it? Do you have pictures of the reinforced area? .....This is the reason I joined this board..great ideas, awesome builds, and plenty of info!!

How wide are the wheels on the yellow and white truck? Are they for sale?
