Thinking about switching to elec radiator fan.
I read a forum on here that early 90's Ford Taurus fans are a good one to use on our trucks. Any comments?

Jeep are popular, Lincoln several threads on conversions. Wiring n relays will be needed also.

Why the switch, if you don't mind me asking?
I use to have an electric one, but switched back to mechanical when I started having electrical issues, I hate dealing with relays. |

I've heard it gives a lot more horsepower and better cooling. And my fan won't fit in my shroud.

We have hot summers here and I am worried about overheating. But I don't won't anymore electrical problems either. I already have a battery draw that I can't figure out. I appreicate everyone's input!

If you start adding stuff power windows, huge draw amp, clock, air compressors, headlights, n air you actually tax your electrical system pretty hard for our stock alternators. I personally think it is a worthy upgrade for the fans. But maybe not to everyone's taste.

I was overheating on long grades in 110 + temperatures. Because I had radiator leaks I installed a new 4-row radiator from Autozone (less than $100), and since then my temperature gauge sits at the thermostat point in any temperature Phoenix can throw at me, using the stock clutch fan and shroud.
If it ain't broke, don't fix it, in my opinion.

Sorry, no I don't, and when I looked at the Autozone website the only one they show now is $186. The one I got was copper/brass, and looks just like the OEM part.
It was 3 or 4 years ago, and my point was not to promote any particular radiator, but to say that the stock cooling system works just fine in my truck in a severe climate.
