AD wiper mount
I need to mount the wiper motor but i do not see where it should go, there are no brackets of any kind under the dash. P.O. stripped every thing out. Any help?

Re: AD wiper mount
The wiper motor mounts up just to the right up under dash, next to dash brace. Roughly behind the temp, gas, oil, volt gauge is.

Re: AD wiper mount
Shouldn't the mount be up to the right of the dash brace - behind the speedo ?

Re: AD wiper mount
Here is the stock bracket minus the wiper motor in a 53 cab.
The dash was cut out several years ago because we were going to put a different dash in the truck.

Thanks, That bracket is gone in my truck, plus i have a hanging pedal assembly so im not sure that wiper motor will fit.

Re: AD wiper mount
An electric one that bolts to it might not work with hanging pedals but I had hanging pedals in mine at one time when it was subframed with the stock wiper motor.
I've got a cable driven wiper setup from Specialty Power Windows that I bought years ago and never used that will go in the 48 this time simply because I have it.

Re: AD wiper mount
I may try this from speedway motors.

Re: AD wiper mount
I used that same unit on my '31 Oakland. It had overhead wipers and it worked great and was an easy install. The nice thing about it is you can place the motor just about anywhere.

Re: AD wiper mount
That's pretty much the same unit I have for mine.

Re: AD wiper mount
For the guys that have the speedway unit...is the throw on this unit better than stock....stock just does not clean enough of the window

Re: AD wiper mount
The throw is adjustable by using a different position on the cam wheel. IIRC you could get up to 110 degrees of movement. For my Oakland at rest they where at the top of the windshield and while running the ends would just about touch the edges of the frame. Total sweep was over 90 degrees.
