Talking 74 Stepside Project

Just got this one home (the 76 project is now stopped).

Thanks Flashed.

I talked to the previous owner after making the purchase. He said it was Grand dads truck from new, had the original bill of sale which he wanted to keep. When doing the paperwork I said to ignore the mileage probably, he said it's probably correct at 83K. Kept in a garage too, that's why there is little rust. Better find a way to protect all that.

Re: 74 Stepside Project

I fitted a new exhaust system to my 76 that is now going away. I could take these off and reuse them but they are very quite.

This 74 has straight pipes that end at the back of the cab. Not a good idea because of possible CO2 being drawn into the cab and also not being able to pass a cop without being stopped.

So my first dilemma is should I change out these mufflers and just use the rest of the exhaust system or replace the mufflers with something like Flowmasters?

Re: 74 Stepside Project

Well took the exhaust of the other truck and fitted them right up. Sounds pretty good.
