i got just 1 question
that rear bump stop bracket... why is it so rough edged?
does it hit something? was it made with a blow torch? was it an afterthought, oh crap, we forgot the bump stop? whats up with the rough edges on that thing? |

That's about 4 questions.
Looks to me like the tool that made it is wore out. After 100,000 hits or so they need to refresh the stamp and trim edge tool. K

Since I am a Journeyman Diemaker/Designer by trade, my guess is that bracket gets V-formed, in a position similar to the position that your photo has it shown. I am sure that the original Die was rather crude, with rough gauging for shaped flat blank, and a v-shaped punch on the upper, and a v-shaped cavity on the lower....Kind of a one-hit Louie, and because of the material bunching together down the vertical wall opposite of the "V" while it is being formed, it causes that jagged trim edge.
