Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
Can someone provide me some hints on how to get the bottom bolt out of the rear coils on my 70' C20?
I removed the top bolts, but I cannot for the life of me budge the bottoms. They dont look rusted, but my HF electric impact wrench won't even budge the bolt from the bottom. Thoughts? Trying to get the last bits and pieces removed for sandblasting on Thursday. Thanks!

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
should come off just like the top bolt. I had to cut my coils off with a grinder so I could get enough room to grab the bolt inside the spring with a wrench. you might be able to cut the bolt off and hit it though with a punch and hammer.

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
My coil bolts were rusted solid to the arms. I got the nut off the bolt but had to heat the outside of the arm so as to get the bolt to spin. I hammered the bolt out after it spun. FYI, in the end, my arms were rusted paper thin & I had to eventually replace them.

Breaker bar. A long one. Let the bolt soak in PB Blaster for a day first. It will either snap the bolt or get it moving. Sometimes the ratings on inexpensive tools are over rated.

Don't be too shocked if it ends up coming apart like this:

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
So update:
I tore down my frame and pulled the rear end off. Every bolt is loose or removed, even the U bolts....all except the two bottom side bolts for the coils!! Here are some pics. I got to get these out, its killing me! I tried to cut to bolt head off and push it through, but no freaking luck!!! Driver side soaking

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
My coil bolts were stuck in the arms also. I've been told this is pretty common on them. I soaked mine with PB blaster for a few hours, heated my trailing arms, then hit them with my cordless impact and they spun right out.

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
There is a short description in this post of what I ended up doing to get my lower bolts out.

Re: Rear Coil Bolt Removal?
Do you have a compressor and an airhammer? Drop thcoils and arms a little bit and wedge the lower coil cup away from the arm. This might lift the bolt out of the arm after you cut the bolt heads off
