I6 & V8 throttle the same?

as the title say's, are the 6 and v8 throttle (the arm the rod from carb) hooks up to the same length? mine seems a little short and my tk was org a 235. here is a pic of mine in the middle.

The I6 and V8 linkages are different under the hood.
The V8 arm is taller than the I6 arm.

Re: I6 & V8 throttle the same?

Mine was originally an I6 and the PO put in a sbc. I believe he used the original arm as my pedal is really touchy. Would getting a longer arm make it less touchy?

the longer that arm the quicker the response. that means the shorter distance that the pedal travels

Re: I6 & V8 throttle the same?

I just recently made a new linkage rod for my SBC swap and it too seems very touchy with the short l6 style arm. I might try to lengthen the arm as well to see if that makes the throttle action manageable. The geometry of the lever certainly impacts the amount of travel.

If that doesn't work I may need to search for a mid-70s pedal assembly that I saw on someone's 64-66 that worked much better.

Re: I6 & V8 throttle the same?

I did te mid 70's throttle cable mod, and love it.

Now if I could just eliminate my sticky accel pump, my throttle action would be perfect
