SEMA 2014 Las Vegas C10 Pictures

SEMA was packed this year, but I guess that's a good sign that our economy is picking back up. I even got to see the "Farm Truck" and his new power train. Not as many 67-72 trucks as last year, but I still wanted to share a few pictures that I took.

Feel free to post some of your SEMA pics too.

Hey Steve, the beat up ol race truck is more famously known as the Farm Truck. Its all over YouTube and featured heavily on Discovery's Street Outlaws. Gimme a min or two ill see if I can find the info for the motor.

Re: SEMA 2014 Las Vegas C10 Pictures

The more black 67s I see with side trim the more I think I might buy some for mine.....when I first had the idea of how I wanted the 68 to look it was low shaved and black....but that trim..looks good. I really want to make a quad cab. Lol I know where a burb is that has a solid roofline but rotted quarters...wonder if he'd sell it...

I agree with you 100%. After painting mine solid red I plan on adding the side trim for sure. The quad cab is really cool and different. The first one I have seen in person.

The beat up orange one with the race motor is my favorite one.

Have any details on the motor?

I 100% agree with you on that! Except for the blonde hottie in the orange shirt standing next to the sprint car! Dynomite! Anyways, is it me or all of them are all starting to look the same now? All slammed to the ground & big ass tires & wheels. Doesn't anyone build a normal pickup truck anymore? Don't get me wrong, there have been a few I have seen on here (on this site) that I really like that are lowered - not slammed to the ground - and that has the perfect wheel/tire size. It's just seems that they are all slammed & hooped tires & wheels nowdays. That's just my opinion & observation.

Eh, SEMA is not where you display a run of the mill pickup. Its to showcase your products and ability to build/create on the cutting edge. If you want to see home brew "normal" trucks, a sema picture thread is not the place for you.

This is also only just a small slice of SEMA. There are tons of lifted and restoration grade vehicles too.

I know all about SEMA and the awesome cars & trucks that show up there. I wasn't just talking about seeing the dropped, slammed, big wheels & tires C-10 trucks at SEMA, they seem to be everywhere now! And it's already starting to become an old trend quick. When a new trend crashes on the scene & everyone does it, it gets old and worn out real quick. Even when I look on C-10 Facebook page that's all they are posting are slam bam trucks. And I am sure there are some nice factory restored 67-72 C-10's there too, we just haven't seen them yet. And like I said earlier there are some on here that I really like because the drop & tire/wheel combo is not overly done like most that I have seen. Just like the one pic I have attached, I love the look of this truck!

I dig that truck too,but to me it looks dated. But todays trend is tomorrows old news. I'm sure in a couple years the big wheel look will be gone and the next trend will be plastered all over the forums.

Yeah, me too. I appreciate the craftsmanship, but now that everyone is different by being the same, I'm getting tired of that look.

Here's what happens: a look will catch on and will be executed further and further until it reaches excess. That's where we're at now, I think. These aren't just upsized wheels, they're cartoons.

Back in the 80s (90s?) SoCal scene wheels kept getting smaller and smaller until they were 10 inches. Then eventually Dubs were double that (20") and eventually 26" was the thing to have and I have no idea what's on them now.

Do you know what happened to ProStreet? The Dobbertin J2000, that's what. It was the ProStreet movement pushed to ragged excess. The engineering (if it had run correctly, no idea) was spectacular and the look was way over the top.

I'm not hating on anyone who likes or owns trucks in the ala mode style, just watching from the sidelines as I have a number of other styles that have come and gone. It takes me so long to build a truck that if I targetted a style it'll pass before I'm done!

It is the truck.. I met Aron last weekend at the NHRA drags here in Vegas. I couldn't believe they have a Top Fuel dragster. They must be doing something right..

Thumbs up Re: SEMA 2014 Las Vegas C10 Pictures

This is the nicest truck there from all the pictures I have seen on the net and face book.
Haven't been able to find out a lot about it but to me it's the nicest there. They used simple stuff to make a outstanding truck. The best part is they kept the classic style of the truck.

After talking to tech support at Air Lift I have found out that the kit I need is 60811. Per the measurements I gave them. Ride height of truck inside spring and inside diameter of springs.

68shortwide,
You think!

To be honest I like anything that is 67-72 related no matter what the owner does to it.
