Speaker Hole Repair?
So one of the POs of my truck cut speaker holes in the bottom of the doors. Right now the holes are covered with carpet, but I'd like to repair this properly and bring it back to stock.
Does one of the aftermarket companies make a skin to cover this mess up? Does anyone have recommendations on how to fix this? Thanks |

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
Your best bet is to find someone with some junk doors to cut patch panels from .

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
Classic Industries and other vendors sell these. They'd require replacing that portion of the inner door. I have no idea how they fit. Just an option to look into.

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
Or buy the panel and cut the missing area out of the new one and weld it in, that makes it alittle easier

Or if you got some scrap metal laying around, you could make your own pieces. I used some metal off a scrap riding mower I had to weld up the ac holes on the firewall |

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
Has anybody ever thought about going to the local hardware store for a squair piece of sheetmetal? As long as the holes are in the flat area all ya need is flat sheetmetal

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
I have found the hardware stores to be over priced. There is a place that I go to called metal supermarkets that I can get a pice of 18 gage sheet metal that could repair both sides for less than $5. I beleave they are on line but shipping may jump the price up.

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
Cost and shipping from metal supermarkets isn't too bad. If one didn't have a place near them to get metal, I'd say it's a good place to order from as the prices aren't to off from the prices around here. But I do agree that most hardware stores are a bit over priced.

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
I agree and i have local metal yards too, i was just making the point of buying flat sheet instead of a repair panel, figured everyone has heard of a hardware store, could have worded it better..

Re: Speaker Hole Repair?
I agree with your point. Just wanted to add an option of where to look for sheet metal.
